Home Automation #2

This home environment was for an individual who lives independently by himself; however he has incomplete quadriplegia and uses a power assist manual wheelchair. He lives in a skyscraper in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.  Inside the clients home he has a door leading out onto a patio overseeing the downtown region. As you will see he has a pillar within his condo that has a silver panel that he can push to have the door open automatically. Once he is out on his patio there is another push button to open the door from the outside. The doorway is a barrier free entrance, at the time of taking these pictures the finished floor was not in place however in the end the transition between the outside patio and the inside flooring was no more than ½” beveled or ¼” squared maximum.
