This one day seminar allows the participant to enter into the world of universal & accessible home design. The participant will enter a “virtual” world of exciting products and concepts to benefit their clients. Within the universal & accessible designed home, one can create warmth and beauty while, at the same, time creating a safe and functional environment for their clients. The principles and concepts that will be presented will give the professional home evaluator multiple tools to utilize when performing a home modification evaluation and/or assessment. The participants in this seminar will not only enhance their knowledge base, but extenuate their problem solving skills. This seminar emphasizes the concept of a team approach in which all participants work toward achieving the same goal of a beautiful and functional home environment for their clients. This seminar is also available as an online course.
"Specialty Products for Home Accessibility and Independence"
This one day seminar will allow the participant to enter the exciting world of specialty products for their clients in a universal and accessible designed home. These products will range from the simple to the complex and cover a wide range of areas within the home environment. This seminar will expand the specialty product knowledge of the participant. This information will help the participant to facilitate the proper selection of specialty products for their clients. The participant will be able to define universal and accessible home design. The participant will also be able to define the seven principles of universal design and apply these principles to products within the home environment. This seminar will allow the participant an opportunity to view, discuss and participate with other professionals in creating the most effective home environments for their clients. This seminar is also available as an online course.
"Getting Into Universal and Accessible Home Design" - a 3 hour one-on-one training course
This training course is intended for those with a high interest in universal and accessible home design. This course goes beyond simply performing a home modification evaluation and takes the participant to the next level of becoming a home modification coordinator. The participant enters the world of organizing, implementing and executing a home evaluation report. This is achieved through incorporating the "team approach" for the home modification project. The participant gains insight and knowledge of what it takes to produce an excellent home environment for their client. Consideration is also given to achieve an understanding of the process of opening a home modification business. The participant will have the opportunity to engage the instructor in one-on-one discussion and questioning throughout the course, as desired.
